A perennial show-stopper for Hardwood Artisans since its origination, the design of the Glasgow Grand Mesa Dresser was inspired by the work of the Scottish Arts and Crafts Movement. In the 1880's and 90's, 30 years after William Morris had established his shop in London, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and four other artisans established what came to be known worldwide as the “Glasgow Style”. With its sinuous curves and more elaborate decorative motifs, the Glasgow Style distinguished itself from William Morris’s more restrained take on Arts and Crafts, yet maintained the exacting hand-made construction.
The handles we offer with our Glasgow cabinets are hand-made in England and brought into the states by a fourth generation handle making family based in Connecticut.
