In 1976, two craftsmen opened a small shop in Alexandria with one product that would define a company for the next five decades.

In 1976, Greg and Larry opened a small furniture store on King Street in Alexandria, Virginia with one simple idea:

Build the finest solid wood loft beds in America.

That small shop became The Loft Bed Store.

Over the next five decades, it evolved into Hardwood Artisans, where we now handcraft dining rooms, bedrooms, home offices, entertainment centers, wall beds, bookcases, and custom furniture—while still building the loft beds that started it all.

This year we're honored to celebrate 50 years of American craftsmanship.
