One of the main characteristics of our Crofters Collection is the strong use of vertical spindles on the sides and backs. The general look of the collection is what many people might term “mission”, “arts and crafts”, or “prairie” style. Our Crofters sofas, loveseats, and chairs are archetypes of these genres. Traditionally done in quarter-sawn white oak, these pieces take on a much updated look in cherry, walnut and mahogany. The Crofter’s collection is built much like our Craftsman style, but the sides are open, with graceful slats instead of solid panels, making these pieces visually light and airy.
The use of 1 ¾” legs, further enhanced by the use of corbels on selected pieces, speak to the collections resilience, both from a physical and a stylistic view. Overhanging solid wood tops afford a smart and stylish effect to the collection, which maintains a crisp and concise presence in the modern world.
