For the first time in our artisan history, Hardwood Artisans is offering - in limited quantities - a craftsman quality piece that was produced and featured on the PBS Series, Made In Virginia. Filmed in February 2019 on location at Hardwood Artisan's Culpeper Virginia workshop, this customer favorite Waterfall 5-Drawer Low Chest represents an elegant and graceful representation of classic Asian-inspired bedroom furniture.

The elegant curved front edges gracefully present the top surface while the lower edge of the top is sharply beveled back to complement the legs and to give the dresser an overall light, almost floating, look.

We have taken the Asian-influenced Arts and Crafts style and created complementary beds, tables and living room furniture. These chests and dressers are not reproductions of anything that has come before, but are rather original Hardwood Artisans designs. We feel that we are carrying on the tradition of honesty and integrity in craft and style that was the Arts and Crafts movement. 

Construction Features

Each element of this piece’s construction speaks to its Asian-inspired Arts and Crafts roots. Details like the gentle curve of the legs, pegged through tenons and the dovetail jointed drawers can be found throughout.

The signature Waterfall edge top overhangs the case and adds interest to the design giving it an expansive feel. The joinery is exposed to show the beauty of construction.
