Made In Virginia, a television show that promotes Virginia individuals and companies who invent, produce, and craft their product in the Commonwealth. As one of the few remaining bespoke furniture makers in Virginia, Hardwood Artisans uses traditional joinery techniques and skilled craftspeople to design and make solid wood furniture by hand. In addition to making lifestyle furniture, Hardwood Artisans also specializes in solid wood custom kitchen cabinetry and islands, bathroom vanities, office built-ins, wall units, and Murphy beds. Their sustainable approach to furniture making has made them incredibly efficient with very little waste. Sawdust is used as bedding for local dairy cows, wood waste is delivered to a local mulching company, and larger pieces are re-purposed and made into cutting and cheese boards, trivets, and jewelry boxes. Their most popular home accessory item, the Jeannie Cube, is made from length trimming scraps that are glued together to create four-sided display boxes and floating shelves.
