We designed this nightstand to go with the Baton Rouge bed, changing its scale to be more in keeping with the bed. A bit smaller, but still substantial, these nightstands feature drawers on metal glides for full extension, elegant and subtle arches, and a curved front top with an edge treatment to give this piece the lift it needs. The pulls are made of wood and stained black, with a graceful “bow tie” shape.

A perennial show-stopper for Hardwood Artisans since its origination, the Glasgow desk was inspired by the work of not the American Arts and Crafts Movement, but the Scottish Arts and Crafts Movement. In the 1880s and 90s, 30 years after William Morris had established his shop in London, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and four other artisans established what came to be known worldwide as the “Glasgow Style”. With its sinuous curves and more elaborate decorative motifs, the Glasgow Style distinguished itself from William Morris’s more restrained take on Arts and Crafts, yet maintained the exacting hand-made construction.

Hardwood Artisans’ homage to the Glasgow Style, the Glasgow Desk and an accompanying Glasgow case goods takes you back to the parlor culture of late-Victorian Scotland.

The Glasgow Desk features left and right drawers designed with paper slots inside to accommodate limited filing. Pulls on The Glasgow Desk are wooden pegs.

The Glasgow Professional Desk, at 36" x 73", includes two file drawers on metal glides set up for hanging files. Pulls on the professional desk are our Craftsman pulls.
