  1. Artisan Secretary

    Artisan Secretary

Popular pieces during the 18th century, these small writing desks have been a staple in American homes for generations. But if you are not fortunate enough to have furniture handed down from the 1700’s, you can always outfit your library or formal sitting room with one of our classic secretaries.

With a large lateral file drawer ready for your hanging files, this secretary has a large capacity for storage. There is a classic organizer behind the desk flap featuring pigeon holes and two small drawers, a pencil drawer, and a large mixed media center drawer. Add in the elegant artisan pedestal for a little ornamentation, and get to work. The tall secretary sits nicely in any room of the house, correctly, like it was always there. Just close the desk flap, and it suddenly transforms into a display cabinet.

    • Flat glass panel doors included on the tall secretary
    • Optional lighting available behind the glass panel doors, two LED dimmable lights
    • Satin Black finish handles. Other finishes available
    • File drawer and middle drawer on metal glides
    • The lateral file drawer can accomodate both letter (laterally hanging) or legal (front to back hanging)

    Simply Beautiful Secretary

Greg Gloor, founder of Hardwood Artisans, had a customer ask him to design a secretary with a lighter look. Updated for the next generation, the Simply Beautiful Secretary came into life. It features drawers to hold your pens, small papers and notebooks, and paper holders for your envelopes and all of those pesky bills. There is enough room for writing letters or working with a laptop. Best of all, when you have guests over, all you have to do is close the flap and everything is hidden away.
