| These Crofter’s Sofas and Chairs are the archetypal mission style living room pieces. In the early part of the 20th century, Gustav Stickley, one of the original American Arts and Crafts furniture makers, introduced a line of furniture that he named "Mission Oak". One of the main characteristics of these pieces was the strong use of vertical spindles in the sides of his chairs, tables, and desks. We offer these Crofter’s Sofas and Chairs with either a "loose seat" or a "tight seat". In the tight seat, the legs are taller and there is no separate seat cushion. This is the traditional way that an Arts and Crafts piece would have been upholstered, but let comfort be your guide. For information on fabric requirements, please inquire of your sales person. Chairs include one throw pillow. Loveseats and sofas include two throw pillows.
