| These Crofter’s Sofas and Chairs are the archetypal mission style living room pieces. In the early part of the 20th century, Gustav Stickley, one of the original American Arts and Crafts furniture makers, introduced a line of furniture that he named "Mission Oak". One of the main characteristics of these pieces was the strong use of vertical spindles in the sides of his chairs, tables, and desks. We offer these Crofter’s Sofas and Chairs with either a "loose seat" or a "tight seat". The loose seat has a separate (and loose) seat cushion. The legs are a little shorter and it appears to sit closer to the floor, even though the actual seat height is no lower. It is a little softer and you feel a bit more like you are "sitting in" rather than "sitting on" this sofa. For information on fabric requirements, please inquire of your sales person. Chairs include one throw pillow. Loveseats and sofas include two throw pillows.
